Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update has arrived on the AT&T
Galaxy S III (SGH-i747) device and is available through the Samsung Kies
update and sync software. Users with already installed Android 4.0.4
can download Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Update which brings heaps
of new features such as the Google Now, Project Butter, Reorganized
settings menu, and enhanced notifications. Some small bugs and glitches
have also been addressed.
The update that clocks in at 738MB is available by synchronising with Samsung Kies. Just hookup to the ol’ PC and the use of Samsung Kies will coax out Android 4.1.1 manually. There is no word of a full OTA (Wireless Upgrade) push, however. In case Kies isn’t working for you, the 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware can be downloaded directly from the mirror link listed below.
Sprint and T-Mobile have already released the Android 4.1.1 Jelly
Bean update for the Galaxy S3 on their networks, with Verizon customers
still awaiting anxiously. Most likely Verizon users will get their hands
on the Android 4.1.1. update very soon.
